Two women are in hospital after an alleged double stabbing at a home in the NSW Hunter region overnight. Police were called to the home on in Muswellbrook about 7pm, and found a 27-year-old man in the front yard allegedly armed with a pair of scissors and carrying an 11-month-old baby. The man refused to release the child despite repeated instructions from police. As the man briefly put the girl on the ground, police tasered and arrested him. A 30-year-old Macksville woman was airlifted from the scene to John Hunter Hospital with a stab wound from scissors to the right eye.
A 28-year-old Muswellbrook woman is also undergoing hospital treatment for a stab wound to her left upper arm and face.
