Two persons have died after the Sydney to Melbourne XPT train was derailed at Wallan, Melbourne. Ambulance Victoria said one person was being taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition, and eight people were being taken to the Northern Hospital with minor injuries. The train was the Sydney to Melbourne XPT service with around 160 passengers on board. There are five passenger cars derailed, with the locomotive on its side.
