According to the sources of officials, South Australian Premier as well as the operators of the Kangaroo Island, has admitted that the high cost of ferry is discouraging many tourists from visiting. As per the close sources of report, neither Steven Marshall nor Sealink made any attempt to lower the fares of ferry. The leader of opposition Peter Malinauskas has requested the state government to impose a subsidy in order to lower the cost of Sealink ferry.
