A mother and her unborn baby have been killed in a horror crash in Melbourne’s south-east. The fatal accident occurred about 8am yesterday in Pakenham South, with a white ute colliding head-on with a silver SUV on Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road. The female driver of the SUV suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition. The 34-year-old Koo Wee Rup woman and her unborn child have since died. Her two passengers, both young children, are recovering in hospital. The male driver of the ute is fighting for life after being flown to hospital with critical injuries. “Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and it remains ongoing,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
