Borders are being slammed shut to Greater Sydney residents as the Northern Beaches coronavirus cluster continues to grow. There has been a mad rush at airports and road borders as every state and territory closed its borders. Here is the latest border information for states and territories. The local government area of the Northern Beaches is now in lockdown. Residents can only leave home for four reasons: to shop for food or other essentials; go to work; visit a sick relative or on compassionate grounds; and to exercise.This area has a population of about 250,000 people. The wider Sydney region has been asked to limit their movements as well and avoid any non-essential travel. Restrictions are in place for Greater Sydney, including a limit of 10 people in homes.
